Tim is a British and European Patent Attorney with 40 years’ experience of IP in the corporate environment. He has been at Nokia since the late 1980’s where he played a key role in establishing the in-house patent department of the then nascent mobile phone business and has since held a variety of senior IP management roles. In his current position Tim focuses on intellectual property policy and regulatory affairs.
Tim has a broad industry perspective, having been actively involved in trade associations and professional organisations in the UK and at EU level over many years. Tim has been closely involved from the outset in the proposals for a Unified Patent Court in Europe. He represented industry on the Expert Group of Judges and Lawyers which advised the European Commission when the UPC was being designed, and is a member of the Expert Panel advising the UPC Preparatory Committee since the UPC Agreement was signed.
