John R. Schiffhauer is a vice president of Law and Policy Group and serves as associate general counsel for the Business Legal organization at Intel Corporation. He leads the legal team responsible for intellectual property (IP) support for Intel’s business units and activities. He has also served as a group general counsel for many of Intel’s technology and product businesses.
Throughout his, career, Schiffhauer has lead and developed cross-functional teams that delivered consistent results in transactions and projects that developed, protected and exploited the company’s intellectual property assets, including: technology and related intellectual property licenses, patent licenses and cross-licenses, product sales, software licenses, supplier partnerships and agreements, corporate acquisitions, divestitures and spin-outs, and external research engagements.
Schiffhauer came to Intel in 1998 from Applied Materials. Previously, he was a principal at Fish & Richardson, where he specialized in patent and trade secret litigation for 9 years. He started his legal career in 1985 as an associate attorney practicing litigation at Morgan & Finnegan.
Schiffhauer has a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering and a master’s degree in engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his law degree from Union University’s Albany Law School.
